陕西省政府代表团访问明州
金秋九月，明尼苏达迎来了来自友好姊妹省州─陕西的贵客。2007年是明州陕西两省州建立友好关系25周年，作为庆祝活动的一部分，以陕西省省委副书记王侠为团长的陕西省政府代表团于九月九日至10日访问了明州。此次代表团囊括了商贸、教育、卫生等部门的负责人及咸阳、榆林等地市的领导，是一个高级别的政府代表团。
九日晚，明州陕西同乡会及美中友协在北京园设宴欢迎陕西省政府代表团。乡音浓浓，乡情融融。席间，宾主双方共同回顾了两省州间友好交往的历史，王侠团长专门对陕西同乡会及美中友协对两省州间的友好交流的贡献表示感谢，并欢迎乡党们常会家看看。王侠团长还代表陕西省政府向美中友协及陕西同乡会赠送了书籍及代表陕西特色的纪念品─镀金铜车马。美中友协前全国委员会主席Barbara
Harrison 代表美中友协对代表团的来访表示欢迎。陕西同乡会会长李东代表陕西同乡会致了欢迎辞，并表示我们这些漂泊在外的游子时刻都在关注家乡的发展，也非常希望有机会为家乡的建设出把力。宾主双方还就如何在两省州之间进一步加强商贸，文化，教育等方面的合作交换了意见。
席间，代表团副团长,
陕西省政府副秘书长杨志刚为同乡会成员们分汤。“分汤”在中国的宴席上有两种含义，一是代表着主人，二是表示着关怀。显然代表团把明州当做了自己的家，同时又表示着祖国人民对海外学子和海外游子的关怀。
明州陕西同乡会名誉会长萧峰、陕西同乡会理事会成员、美中友协明尼苏达分会的部分理事会成员参加了宴会。
在访问明州期间，代表团在美中友协及陕西同乡会的有关人员陪同下参观了明尼阿波利斯和圣保罗。并在明州贸易局听取了有关两省州商贸交流的情况介绍。
